Emerald green fragile leaves
Receiving new amber stains
A welcoming change in hue
Crushing sounds of almost paper
Fluttering without purpose
Across the dark golden sky
Cinnamon wind
Kissing sweater fibers
Colder sharper rains
Descending slowly
The sun seeming younger
Change changing
Between Summer’s cruel vehemence
And Winter’s bitter ending,
You remain the same.
