I looked up into the sky
To behold stars
I had not seen in a while.
In the darkness of space
Light speckles of stardust
Littered the emptiness.
I recognized constellations
Like blinking patterns.
Orion, Ursa, Centaurus
Every star was in its
everlasting place.
Except for ten.
Ten small stars
Lined up close together
Moved together slowly
Across the cosmos.
I did not recognize these stars
Nor their movement.
They moved quietly
They moved evenly
One after the other
From right to left.
The moon was their starting point
And the edge of my eye
Was where they disappeared.
One after the other
I saw them blink away
And the sky was still again.
No one will believe me.
